Met Gala: Heavenly Bodies - Fashion and the Catholic Imagination

This year's MET Gala has been quite stunning and i'm so glad of that. The theme was quite easy to follow and many celebs have gone ahead with it and provided amazing looks, while others did so little about it just by having a cross necklace or not sticking to the theme at all. But below are my total favorite looks from the night, because this year the Met Gala hasn't disappointed. I haven't included Katy Perry because that was too much, Cardi B., because she looked exactly like an old Beyonce look and we all know it, or the Jenners who didn't even try. Kate Bosworth was absolutely beautiful looking like a virgin in this dreamy Oscar de la Renta gown

 This was an easy theme for Madonna as she provided a total look in Jean Paul Gaultier

 SZA has to be my favorite look as she looked heavenly and cute in Versace

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley had a pristine look in Ralph Lauren

Lana del Rey's look in motion looks amazing, as she and Jared Leto were wearing Gucci and looked like they came straight out of a painting

2017 MET Costume Institute Gala 'Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between'

The MET Gala night is always one of my favorite nights of the year because i always wake up to see all the pretty dresses and the stars shining on the red carpet. Truth is, that the past few years, the looks haven't been as fabulous as once were, but this year's theme was edgy and risky so the expectations were high. And, while the designer on whom they inspired the theme is quite abstract, some have followed the theme and others have totally ignored. As always. Sadly there had been some major absences like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kirsten Dunst or Nicole Kidman, but after the cut i've posted all the interesting looks the Met Ball has given us this year. But i think there's no argument on Best Dressed as Rihanna was the absolute queen. Totally mesmerizing.

Rihanna was on absolute point dressing Comme des Garçons and was totally stunning. She risked and this year she totally slayed. A queen.

Tracee Ellis Ross was also dressing Comme des Garçons and was exquisite, elegant and followed the theme, and the colour of the gown looked gorgeous on her.

I adored Mary Kate's and Ashley Olsen's looks, i couldn't find what are they dressing but i bet is any of their lines, like The Row, but they looked like Renaissance nymphs. 

MET Gala 2016: Manus x Machina - Fashion in a Age of Technology

Finally, here's the post about the MET Gala 2016 looks. I know this is old news by internet standards but i had to do it no matter what, i've done it in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 so this year couldn't be a miss.

So, this year's theme was very 'Ex-Mchina'-esque, "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology' and this was quite a theme to amaze but some, as always, decided to put on the hell they wanted no matter what, when they could all have done sooo much better. But some have stick to the theme and have been more than amazing so here are my favourite looks from the MET Ball 2016 alongside others that haven't been so on point but are worth to criticise. Check them all after the cut!

Obvioulsy, this year's dress of the MET Gala has been the fantastic Zac Posen gown Claire Danes wore and it was mesemerizing (as well as electric). She was the absolute winner of the night.

The Olsen twins hiding from the paparazzi exhibit

The Olsen twins have known stardom since they were babies, had a successful acting career during their childhood and teen years , currently they run a fashion empire, and now they're about to have their own museum. As you read it, comedians Matt Harkins and Viviana Olin plan to make an exhibit with a series of paintings depicting Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen hiding from the paparazzi, as they usually do. These portraits are based on real paparazzi pictures which makes the paintings frivolous and somehow tragic, but interesting to look at.

In order to do that, they're raising money to bring a collection to a store front instead of their appartment, where they usually hold exhibitions but you can see a few of the portraits here. I don't know if i liked them or if i would hang one of these on my house (not that i could afford it) but i had to post them here because anything Olsen twins' related, captures my attention.

MET Costume Institute Gala 2015: China Through the Looking Glass

Surprisingly, this year Met Gala's theme was totally on point for many. That means two things, one, that it was good and nearly everyone tried their best and second that many failed while trying. But that's better than not trying at all and just attempt to look pretty so let's take a look at all the ladies on this year's Met Gala because i think this has been a really good year (finally!). I'm not going to comment on hot messes like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway or Madonna (i'm posting though, Dakota Johnson's cute clutch above) but check out all the pretty dresses after the cut!

 Personally, i think Fan Bingbing has been the absolute queen at this year's gala in this Christopher Bu sequined dress and cape. 

MET Costume Institute Gala 2014: Charles James Beyond Fashion

MET Gala! Ok, i'm not gonna comment anything about this year's theme because as everyone who attended pretty much ignored it, i'm not going to bother about it.

This year i'm not only going to comment about the looks that i loved but also from others that have been really mixed up, in conclusion, about all the looks that matter, let's begin and let me know your faves!

Naomi Watts was, for me, queen of the night in this exquisite Givenchy dress that was a dream, she's always on point.

 Charlize Theron also saved the night in Dior even though she didn't look as stunning as Miss Watts while Cara Delevingne was effortesly chic and original wearing trousers in Stella McCartney

MET Costume Institute Gala 2013: 'PUNK: Chaos to Couture'.

The MET Gala was last night, biggest fashion event of the year, and the theme was punk and chaos, and while other years everyone simply ignored the theme, this time the ladies really made an effort to go punk, and while some succeeded and others looked boring, here are the best and worst looks of the gala from the people that really matters:

 Sarah Jessica stunned in Giles and with a really extravagant head piece (could have done without it) & Cara Delevingne was modern punk perfection in Burberry, my fave two looks from the event.

Met Costume Institute Gala 2012

My fave fashion event of the year, the Met Gala, was held last night and even though the red carpet looks are not as Wow as they used to be some years ago, it's always interesting to see who was there and what were they wearing, so i posted some looks from last night from the ones that were there that i care about (even though there was no Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, Natalie Portman or Charlize Theron) and others that i could just not comment on, but the flawless queen was Marion Cotillard:

Marion Cotillard was perfection wearing Dior & Gisele Bundchen also looked amazing in Givenchy.

Rooney Mara was faithful to her style in Givenchy & Scarlett Johansson wore D&G and even though she was stunning, something was definately off.

Cate Blanchett was really great in Alexander McQueen & Sarah Jessica Parker was correct in Valentino but she didn't wow.

Mia Wasikowska was fine in Prada but she could risk a little bit more & Chloe Sevigny was in Miu Miu and i don't know if i hate it or love it.

Amy Adams wore a divine Giambattista Valli & Lily Collins looked nice in this Valentino but only from behind.

Rihanna was nice in this Givenchy but she failed to impress & Mary Kate Olsen could have looked amazing in this The Row dress but that hair is a mess, though that bag is to die for.

Milla Jovovich looked really great in Prada & Leighton Meester was a huge mess in Marchesa, when bad dresses/make-up happens to pretty girls.

Kirsten Dunst had another faux pas in this Rodarte Santa Claus dress & Gwyneth Paltrow wore a cool Prada dress that would look better in a younger girl.

Emma Stone was in Lanvin and looked like what Dakota Fanning would wear when she was 5 & Kristen Bell was nice but boring in Tommy Hilfiger.

Diane Kruger would have looked stunning in this Prada dress if it wasn't for those feathers & Dianna Agron was pretty in Carolina Herrera.

Carey Mulligan wore a love it or hate it Prada dress & Chanel Iman looked impeccable in a Tom Ford dress.

Camilla Belle looked fierce in Ralph Lauren & Caroline Trentini was really great in Olivier Theyskens.

Amber Heard was nice but looked like she was going to prom in a Zac Posen gown & Ashley Greene's Donna Karan dress was beautiful but she looked half dead.

Lana del Rey wore a really interesting look with a Joseph Altuzarra dress & Renée Zellweger looked nice in Emilio Pucci.
