Music Monday (Chromatics, Arcade Fire, Phoenix, Shirley Manson, Katy Perry, Miley & Supermode)

Another Monday, another Music Monday! And obviously, many are songs that have been released in the past few weeks but i don't care because they sound great and are worth the attention. Enjoy!

Chromatics - Shadow
It wouldn't be fair to start this Music Monday without the song that has been on my mind for two weeks now after watching the return of 'Twin Peaks'. That is 'Shadow' by Chromatics' as it was featured at the end of the first episode and it fit so perfectly it was astounding. It had the whole atmosphere of Lynch's original series and the song is hypnotic and haunting. I adored it to say the least.

Arcade Fire - Everything Now
Arcade Fire are back with a really strong single that reminds us a lot to 'Reflektor' but who cares when it sounds so good? i can't wait for their new album though it's true they will never be as iconic as they were with their debut 'Funeral'.

Phoenix - Goodbye Soleil
And i can't definitely wait for Phoenix's new album as everything they release sounds so fantastic. The previous album was ok but i really have high hopes for this new one as one track is nearly better than the previous one. And i love their sound.

Brian Reitzell feat. Shirley Manson - Queen of the Bored
Well, i don't watch 'American Gods' but i love mrs. Manson and this song sounds like it could be part of any Garbage album so of course, i loved it. Nice to hear this woman's voice always.

Katy Perry - Swish Swish feat. Nicki Minaj
Finally Kity Purry has released a decent track, and by decent i mean an instant hit. And the best part is that it seems to be about Terror Swift so it's all good by me.

Miley Cyrus - Malibu
I just could not add this song here even though everyone has already heard it and loves it. But this might be the song of the Summer because it sounds so good and it's such a good-feeling track that i had to put it here.

Supermode - Tell Me Why
And finally, and old song that i had completely forgotten about but it's such a big hit that i had to post it. It's an instant hit and i can't stop listening and dancing to it now.

Garbage's music video for 'Empty'

The first music vid of Garbage's upcoming album 'Strange Little Birds' is out with its first single 'Empty' directed by Samuel Bayer who also directed other videos for them like 'Vow', 'Only Happy When It Rains' and 'Stupid Girl', iconic music vids from the 90s. And just like the track is classic Garbage, the vid is also good old Garbage in a modern way.

We can say that the vid's direction is really similar to 'Vow', with frontwoman Shirley Manson dressing a fur coat like in that vid, but this time it's pink, just like the colour of her dress in the OHWIR's vid and like her hair colour now. I feel the vid is kinda like a mix of 'Vow' and 'Stupid Girl', like a modern version of them, and while the good old formula is good, i wished they did another turn of their signature style and surprise everyone like they did with the 2.0 era. Anyway, enjoy the vid below.

Garbage's new single 'Empty'

Garbage are back in full force with a new album coming out soon titled 'Strange Little Birds', and a lot of expectation from their most hardcore fans. The first taste of what's coming was released yesterday with the first single 'Empty' and while i've been waiting for new music for so long, this new song was ok. It's good old Garbage, which means that while it has their signature sound and the song is catchy as hell, still it really sounds like it's nothing new. But anyway, the song sounds powerful and despite not being impressed when i first listened to it, now it's growing on me.

The new album will be out on June 10th and i will see them live in Madrid at the Madcool Festival in Madrid in a few months, so in the meantime i hope they release some more songs. Enjoy 'Empty' below!

G-2012

Garbage used to be my favourite band, and i say used to be because they haven't released anything in the past few years and their last album was kinda forgettable, but they always have written some amazing stuff, they used to give me the feeling that they wrote songs about me and that's not easy to find for someone who's not into music as much as the rest of the world (of course i like music, but i'm surrounded by people who lives and breathes music and that ain't me).

But that's (maybe) about to change, they have just announced that they will release an album next year, a new single this Christmas "as a christmas present from Garbage as a thankyou to you all for sticking around" and a tour next year (OMG). So am i to blame if i get excited? i've always loved this band, Shirley and the boys, who have always taken care so well of their fans (never forget that the band had secretly split up until Butch Vig decided to get them all together after bumping into some excited fans). They didn't invent the term "darkling" to refer to their fanbase just for nothing. So here i am, a dear darkling waiting for my G-Christmas present and posting some of of my fave songs from them, difficult to choose but here they are:
