It's Season Finale Time (Part lll)

It' seems every other show has had their season finale these days so here i am yet again doing a Season Finale Post after parts l and ll, so here's part lll and who knows if there will be a fourth. It's clear now that i watch too many shows at the moment, and this is the proof so, let's begin!

New Girl (Season 7 - Show finale) So Jessica Day and her gang had a small farewell season and it has been quite great. I was among those who thought that their charm had gone away a bit despite always being funny, but this last season, with a five year gap has been excellent. I think they should had done it earlier because it changed the series' dynamic and brought a lot of life to it but well, at least they did at the end. I have to admit that the last episode wasn't all that great though i appreciate that they didn't end with Jess' and Nick's wedding because that's what every other show does but it was a nice wrap up. I'm sure going to miss characters like Schmidt who's truly a gem, and all the rest because for me, these folks were the true heirs to 'Friends'.

Grey's Anatomy (Season 14) This show never ceases to surprise me and while the previous seasons weren't that much remarkable–though not bad, this one has been actually quite enjoyable. Sure it's a million miles away from the perfection of the first several seasons but it hasn't lost its touch. And i'm super glad that it's renewed every year because i simply enjoy watching it a lot, even when the episode is not that great, as they always keep it next to the core. And that's what i love most about it. About
Kepner's and Arizona's departures? Well, well bye girls, they never really were among my favorites but stop now with that nosense between Jackson and Maggie, it hurts my eyes. And bring DeLuca with Meredith, that would be hot.

Dynasty (Season 1) This show is an extremely guilty pleasure and i didn't expect it at the beginning. At first i watched because of Grant Show and my love to 'Melrose Place', but little by little the show has evolved into a delightful hot mess. Everything is absurd and most characters are too but that's the enjoyable part of it. And now with 'Desperate Housewife' Nicollette Sheridan things have gotten 100 times better. And the finale was quite jaw dropping so i'm super happy that its renewed though i don't expect this show to last a lot in the long run but i will enjoy it no matter what.

Season Finales Recap Time!

(Spoilers!) 

Grey's Anatomy (Season 13) - This season of 'Grey's' has been a little... uninteresting? Like, don't get me wrong, i love the show and i don't care if nothing at all happens but this particular season hasn't had anything special that kept you attached like all the other ones. Even the finale was a bit off, like they tried to make this super tragic event at the hospital but i just wasn't feeling it. I'm going to still watch no matter what but we've got to admit it's slowly decaying when it used to be so great and had the best seasons finales ever. Let's hope Season 14 brings us a bit more back to that.

Riverdale (Season 1) -  The season finale of CW's 'Riverdale' was last week and it was surprisingly quite good but we've got to admit something: it's not what it used to be. When the show first aired, it looked soo good, like it seemed like it had so much potential and we were infront of the next best thing. But soon after the first few episodes, it wasn't as good and it became another teen show. I still like it and i'm still going to watch it but i felt they should have focused on the good, juicy and incestuous stuff like the Blossoms and go deep into that. But well, it was all about Betty and Archie and while everything was nice, it felt like it could had been all better. I was glad to see Luke Perry on it, though i don't think we'll see much from him in S2, and the young cast is quite great so let's hope it will surprise us with the second season.

Girlboss (Season 1) - I started watching 'Girlboss' because i had no shows left to watch and everyone was talking about it on my TL so i had to but at first, like everyone else, i kinda hate-watched it because the protagonist is so annoying. Like so annoying. But we've got to admit it depics the 00s quite well, showing important moments in history like the death of Marissa Cooper in 'The OC' and it perfectly shows the use of internet back then, at the beginning of it all. It's only after the mom's episode when you start to understand Sophia a bit more and tolerate her. The cheating incident also makes you feel for her, though i don't understand how she doesn't rip his head off. Anyway, the thing is that i want to watch more now and Season 2 seems to be a sure thing though there's nothing official yet.

New Girl (Season 6) - This show is always ok, like i always watch a few episodes in a row when i don't have anything else, and i always like it, but we all believed this was going to be its finale season. Jake Johnson himself even said so, so imagine the surprise when it was announced that it got renewed for a final season. I honestly think the ending of S6 was so perfect that it didn't need another season but maybe they will surprise us. But i'll keep on watching because if anything, they're they true soft version of 'Friends', and don't tell me that was 'Big Bang Theory' because it has been proven that it wasn't, so deal with it.

It's series finale time! (part II)

It's already time to discuss all the other seasons finales that i've seen from shows that i needed to catch up or have had finales recently, so just like i did before with 'Broad City', 'The Comeback', 'Pretty Little Liars' and 'Hart of Dixie', let's do some recap. Spoilers aheaaaaad!

New Girl (season 3) - I can't understand how this show has been renewed for yet another season. I like it, but i think it has lost its freshness. I actually only watched it when i had nothing else left to see. Still, the finale was a really great episode and with really interesting things coming ahead (they linked Schmidt's proposal to the first season so that made me excited about it, and also, Jess and Nick again). I think this season has been really weak and most episodes are disposable but maybe in season 4 (probably its last) they will get the show back to how funny and cool it was and wrap it up in a nice way.

Barely Famous (season 1) - Now this was a nice surprise. I heard from this new show from a friend and also because of the amount of celebs appearing on it and little did i expect this show to be this good. I mean, it's nice as a comedy but as a reality show - what it pretends, it's really genius. I liked Sarah Foster on '90210', she really does great playing bitch so she was great on this. This show is such a great parody of reality shows and Hollywood that even if you don't watch them you will love 'Barely Famous'. Give it a watch because it's really a funny, witty, guilty pleasure.

Cougar Town (series finale!) - Even though this show needed to end, i'm going to miss this bunch of weirdos. It is hard at first to get hooked on this show, the characters are very particular and everyone has their own sense of humour, but once you do, it's fantastic. And it's a grower. Maybe the last season was its worst, but i really recommend this show. Their love for drinking wine at all hours, their changes in the meaning of words ("Change approved!"), Ellie mocking Laurie always, Laurie's amazing stories about her life, Bobby's penny can, Bobby's and Andy's bromance,  Tom's creepy but kinda adorable ways, Jules' collection of big glasses that 'passed away' during the seasons... Everything was funny, witty, and made you feel good when watching it. It's a kinda underrated sitcom so that's a shame but it ended in a super nice way and had a great finale.

Grey's Anatomy (season 11) - This season has passed quite fast for me, i didn't realize it was close to the end until the very end. But so far it was interesting with the case of Nicole Herman (played by the flawless Geena Davis), the loss of April's and Avery's baby (i liked that how he reacted to her during the finale because everything was all about her and never him) or Meredith's and Alex's closeness. But the stellar plot has been, in fact, Meredith and Derek. His death was unexpected, and the way it happened was so sad, all alone in a hospital far from home, that it was good old Grey's. It was up to the greatness of some of the first seasons' finales and the carousel scene, played over and over on Meredith's mind, was very on point. I like 'Grey's Anatomy' because they always link everything to the past, and there's never a loose end. I expected though, that they would mention Cristina at some point, because you know she would have been there like a rock besides Mer if she was still on the show. But well, i'm glad that there's another season coming. Maybe it should be its last, but they keep making things so good i won't complain if there are more.

TV Show finales recap time

Tons of season finales episodes aired in the last few weeks so now it's time to do a proper recap of some of them: 'Hart of Dixie', '2 Broke Girls', 'New Girl', 'Grey's Anatomy' and the show finale of '90210', spoilers ahead!

It's season finale time!

It's season finale time and i'm gonna comment the two thousand shows i'm currently watching, i had to catch up on a ton of shows and even though it took me a while it's time to comment them (Spoilers ahead!):

Game of Thrones - even though some things remain the same, Daenerys is still fierce as fuck and my poor Sansa is still pretty much screwed, the finale was superb though i really think the episode before the finale is always better than the final one (i can't get over 'Baelor' from season 1 and how amazing was when all the warriors started saying "Halfmen" out loud in 'Blackwater'). But still, this show is literally the best thing on tv, it gets better and better and better and it sucks big time that we have to wait a year to watch more. Special mention to the Drogo scene, he still melts my heart when he says "Moon of my life".

Grey's Anatomy - This show used to have the best seasons finales ever by far (season 2's and 5's finales were mind blowing) but the last two seasons have been so meh that the finale was meh along (was it an homage to 'Lost' or lack of ideas?). i'm still gonna watch the final season but i hope it ends as it deserves, with a great, amazing finale but i do not appreciate Lexie dying, that was unnecessary and the character deserved a better ending.

90210 - A season finale with a wedding? omg, how original. I really don't know how this show is still on and i really don't know why i am still watching it but well, i liked the return of Teddy as Silver's future baby daddy, so i guess i'm gonna keep on watching, so sad.

2 Broke Girls - This show started sooo good but it hasn't gone better, just the same. Same jokes, basically no plot (cupcakes business as the main plot, really?) and they didn't develop the hipster hottie story, though i was glad they at least put an end to it on the finale.

Hart of Dixie - This show also started really good but it's annoying how Zoe Hart cannot let that man go, he's not even hot to begin with, especially when there's Wade around, but well, still watching the second, and i assume, final season.

New Girl - Ths show didn't really impress me at the beginning but has grown on me, mainly because of the characters and the charming and nerdy Zooey Deschanel. The finale was ok but i definately want to watch more.

Make it or Break it - This wasn't a season finale but a show finale! It was cancelled after only a few episodes of the new season and it was such a shame... luckily, the show had closure and we got to know who was going to the Olimpics but it sucks hard that we won't see that. No matter how obvious the stunt doubles' work was, i enjoyed MIOBI endelessly and i would have loved that it had at least the full season to end.

Thankfully, i'm not out of shows and i still have 'Girls', 'Pretty Little Liars' and 'True Blood' to watch, there's also 'Cougar Town' but it doesn't count, i only watch it when i don't have anything else though it's fun.

4 new shows this fall

Fall means new shows coming back, premiering and getting cancelled (luckily none i liked) and this post is a few weeks late since all these premiered last month but finally, here there are four new shows on TV that somehow caught my attention:

'2 Broke Girls': sitcom starring the always cool Kat Dennings and Beth Berhs about this daughter of a billionaire that is now poor and has to work for a living (omg the horror). Dennings plays the street-wise girl who will sort of help the heiress to get back on track and it's a really funny comedy which only bad thing are those pre-recorded laughs it has. I just watched the pilot but will definately watch more and it has been picked up for a full season so yay to that.

'New Girl': starring Zooey Deschanel, is another sitcom that deals about this girl that has been dumped by her longtime boyfriend and now has to share a flat with three other guys. Zooey is the new girl which has a thing for singing which makes her kinda annoying but cute, i usually don't like her acting much (i like her better as a singer) but here she's simply adorable. The only bad thing is that one of the guys on the pilot (Couch) has been recasted and i don't like the new guy as much. It's also been picked up for a full season but it won't come back until November. But definately i will keep watching.

'Pam An': tv show about stewardesses in the 60's, the Golden Age of travel. Starring Christina Ricci, it deals with women's independence and the iconic Pam An airline that once was the most glamourous way to fly. The show's ratings are down and i didn't like it much, maybe if i don't have anything else to watch i will give it a second try but i'm not impressed so far.

'Hart of Dixie': Now here's something i didn't expect to like or to be any good, Rachel Bilson's new show is über adorable! It's about this brand new doctor from New York that is forced to do her residency in Bluebell, Alabama, far from the big city. The plot is kinda lame but the show is full on tender, funny and cute moments that makes it really likeable, just as Rachel Bilson (who i tolerate quite well considering how much hair envy she does give me). The ratings are up and it's been picked up for a full season so YAY for real because it's my favourite from the new shows this fall and i can't wait to see more.
