Phoenix's 'Ti Amo'

Phoenix are back with a new record that reminds me to the gloriousness that was their album 'Wolfgang Amadeus' was. Not that they haven't released other great stuff in the meantime, but they didn't deliver such a perfect record like they did back in 2009. But 'Ti Amo' seems to have them back to being fresh, charming and hip with an album full of songs where every track has really something. From the band's first single 'J-Boy' to the marvellous album track that gives the album its name, there's no bad song. And they always manage to elaborate catchy tunes without sounding too washed out or repetitive despite their signature sound.

Anyway, here are the five songs i loved most besides 'J-Boy' or 'Goodbye Soleil' that had already been released, but keep in mind that i practically adored the album from beginning to end so treat yourself and listen to the full album here.

Music Monday (Chromatics, Arcade Fire, Phoenix, Shirley Manson, Katy Perry, Miley & Supermode)

Another Monday, another Music Monday! And obviously, many are songs that have been released in the past few weeks but i don't care because they sound great and are worth the attention. Enjoy!

Chromatics - Shadow
It wouldn't be fair to start this Music Monday without the song that has been on my mind for two weeks now after watching the return of 'Twin Peaks'. That is 'Shadow' by Chromatics' as it was featured at the end of the first episode and it fit so perfectly it was astounding. It had the whole atmosphere of Lynch's original series and the song is hypnotic and haunting. I adored it to say the least.

Arcade Fire - Everything Now
Arcade Fire are back with a really strong single that reminds us a lot to 'Reflektor' but who cares when it sounds so good? i can't wait for their new album though it's true they will never be as iconic as they were with their debut 'Funeral'.

Phoenix - Goodbye Soleil
And i can't definitely wait for Phoenix's new album as everything they release sounds so fantastic. The previous album was ok but i really have high hopes for this new one as one track is nearly better than the previous one. And i love their sound.

Brian Reitzell feat. Shirley Manson - Queen of the Bored
Well, i don't watch 'American Gods' but i love mrs. Manson and this song sounds like it could be part of any Garbage album so of course, i loved it. Nice to hear this woman's voice always.

Katy Perry - Swish Swish feat. Nicki Minaj
Finally Kity Purry has released a decent track, and by decent i mean an instant hit. And the best part is that it seems to be about Terror Swift so it's all good by me.

Miley Cyrus - Malibu
I just could not add this song here even though everyone has already heard it and loves it. But this might be the song of the Summer because it sounds so good and it's such a good-feeling track that i had to put it here.

Supermode - Tell Me Why
And finally, and old song that i had completely forgotten about but it's such a big hit that i had to post it. It's an instant hit and i can't stop listening and dancing to it now.

Music Monday (Phoenix, Lana del Rey, Texas, HAIM, Take That, Burak Yeter & Extreme Music)

It's been a while since i did my last Music Monday post, but there are a few new songs out there that sound so good i had to post them. Maybe you had already heard them some time ago but i don't care because they're new to me. So, here are some of the tracks that i loved lately. Enjoy!

Phoenix - J-Boy
Ever since i heard the very first seconds of this song, i adored it. There's something about the French band Phoenix, they simply sound so chic, and so cool and catchy. I can't say that i've liked everything that they've done but when i like a song from them, i love it. 'Wolfgang Amadeus' is a perfect album for me so i'm hoping they definitely go in that direction because 'Bankrupt!' was just fine. In the meantime, enjoy this new single that simply sounds fab.

Lana Del Rey ft. The Weeknd - Lust for Life
Lana del Rey is back and after the extraordinary first single 'Love', she releases this collab song with The Weeknd that is simply fantastic. Between the hypnotic voice of Lana and the melodic music it creates a whole dreamy vibe that i love. High hopes for this new album from her.

Texas - Let's Work It Out
Texas are back and i didn't even know, i've just found out. And i always like Sharleen Spiteri's music because it sounds so chill and laid back and cool. The lyrics are amazing too and it's like they take it easy but always doing a good result. So, here's some new great music from them.

HAIM - Right Now
The girls of HAIM are back and they're giving us a taste of what's coming. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, they released this one single take vid of them at the studio and the new material sounds amazing. Their first album was a fantastic breeze of air and they sound powerful that we'll have to wait a bit for their new stuff.

Take That - Giants
They've done it again. The ultimate 90s boyband have released another instant hit single that took me only one listen to adore. They always deliver and never get old no matter what. Loves it.

Burak Yeter - Tuesday feat, Danelle Sandoval
I discovered this catchy song from someone in social media, so i don't know much about the singers involved but i know it sounds dead good. If you don't know it, you're gonna love it.

Extreme Music - Truth & Lies
And keeping up with dance music, here's the latest track from Extreme who have quite a few hits in the matter. Enjoy and dance, dance!

A very Murray Christmas directed by Sofia Coppola

Last year it was announced that Sofia Coppola was going to direct a Christmas special for Netflix with Bill Murray and Miley Cyrus. While the Miley thing is random coming from Sofia, the Murray casting is perfect as they reunite working together after the much acclaimed (and my personal favourite) 'Lost in Translation'. So, now that Christmas is coming (earlier every year), we've got a teaser of the upcoming special and it looks like the perfect and classic Xmas show. Sofia keeps in it the family with Jason Schwartzman and Phoenix making an appearance, but also we will see the very funny Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolf, George Clooney and Michael Cera among others.

And while we're waiting for a new project coming from Sofia Coppola that will surely reunite her with Kirsten Dunst, let's watch the Very Murray Christmas teaser from netflix and chill:
