#RKOBH

Last year it was announced that there was going to be a reality show based on some users from Instagram that were living life as the rich and fabulous and the idea didn't sound too good, i mean, an Instagram casting? But let me introduce you to my latest guilty pleasure:

'Rich Kids of Beverly Hills' follows the vacant daily lives of a really wealthy gang that lives for instagraming and tweeting every single detail from their shopping escapades, their fabulous partying and their luxury life where selfies are a big deal just like 'Likes' on IG and Twitter. As shallow as this might sound, it's really amusing to watch because they are living in a complete different reality and they are very funny while doing so. Plus, the fabulous son of Magic Johnson, E.J. Johnson, appears on the show (not as often as i would love to) and that's really worth watching.

Season 1 is over and there has to be a season 2 on the way because this is way too funny to miss. Check out behind the cut some very important lessons in life from these #SORRYNOTSORRY rich kids:

GIRLS' season 3 best moments and scenes

For many, this season has been one of the best ones from this tv show, but i don't know if i have been distracted or something but i haven't felt as invested on this series as i used to be. Still, is remains one of my favourites so, as i did last year with season 2, i'm listing my fave moments from this third season, in no specific order, spoilers ahead!

Sofia Coppola's The Little Mermaid

When news came out that Sofia Coppola was going to direct a live action version of the fairy tale 'The Little Mermaid' last week, i was a bit unimpressed. I mean, it's not what i was expecting from her as her next project. But it has been revealed that instead of the Disney version, she's gonna follow the original Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale (1836), which is way darker and sinister.

Here's the plot of the original fairy tale (Spoilers):

'The Little Mermaid, longing for the prince and an eternal soul, eventually visits the Sea Witch, who sells her a potion that gives her legs, in exchange for her tongue (as the Little Mermaid has the most intoxicating voice in the world).  Drinking the potion will make her feel as if a sword is being passed through her, yet when she recovers she will have two beautiful legs, and will be able to dance like no human has ever danced before. However, it will constantly feel like she is walking on sharp swords, and her feet will bleed most terribly. In addition, she will only get a soul if the prince loves her and marries her, for then a part of his soul will flow into her. Otherwise, at dawn on the first day after he marries another woman, the Little Mermaid will die brokenhearted and disintegrate into sea foam.'

A mermaid suicide. And this sounds really, really good, kinda like the dark version of the 'Sleeping Beauty' on which the 2011 film was loosely based and it turned out to be better and more twisted than the original fairy tale.

Caroline Thompson ('Edward Scissorhands') will write the script which can be something excellent and now the female lead needs to be cast. I can't help but think that she has to cast Elle Fanning as the mermaid because she would be perfect but i'm also excited to see if she picks a new Sofia girl (let's hope it's not Emma Watson, i don't think that would be a good idea). Anyway, let's hope more details surface and we can get even more excited with this next project.

Happy List

If there's something that i really like, is the brand Wildfox, not so much because of the clothes but because their attitude towards life. They always have a positive message printed on their clothes, something cool, something cute, and the brand's founder, photographer and designer, Emily Faulstich, is really an inspiration to me. The way she looks at life and her photographs is something that i adore, and her project The Happy List was something really special.

Emily requested to anyone who wanted to participate, to send their happy things in order to create a list with the ideas of happiness from people all around the world and the final result is something super great. I submitted a few, which i don't remember and i don't know if they made it onto the final poster, but i've been lucky enough to win one poster and i'm super happy. It's a list or simple pleasures, of little things that make people happy, and it's a joy to have it home. So, i'm creating a small list of my personal delights below (which i'm sure will be updated because i keep adding things) and be sure to follow Emily on her Tumblr and Instagram. Because it's the small things that make us happy.

Re-watching 'The O.C.' 10 years later

Last year was the 10th year anniversary of the premiere of 'The O.C.' on TV and while i watched it back then and loved it (i got so excited every time i watched the opening theme with Phantom Planet's Californiaaa), but it's not a show i ever re-watched again. So, last year around Christmas, and with no other shows to watch, i gave it a try so, and for its 10th anniversary, let's remember why 'The O.C.' is still a fans' favourite and why for many it's better than 'Gossip Girl' (both shows produced by Josh Schwartz). Let's begin!

Welcome to the O.C. bitch!

Top 10 All Saints songs

All Saints is like my second favourite girl band ever (first one is TLC, obvs), but i really loved their music, their style, their hair and pretty much everything. They were the serious alternative of the Spice Girls, with good melodies, good lyrics and a lot of baggy trousers. So, talking about them the other day with a friend, he was telling me that All Saints didn't really have a lot of hit songs and i highly disagree. Sure, their biggest singles were 'Never Ever', 'Pure Shores' and 'Under the Bridge' (which i never liked), but they got many more excellent songs that weren't released as singles. Their first album is really great and the second one is flawless, but they haven't been capable of doing anything else as good as those two albums.

They're reuniting this Spring to support Backstreetboys on tour , so i'm making my top 10 of favourite songs from All Saints, in no specific order and with a bonus Melanie Blatt song and a great live cover of 'Always Something There To Remind Me', such a shame that these girls being so talented and with such great voices, don't continue making beautiful music, together or as solo artists. Enjoy!

Iggy Azaela goes 'Clueless'.

Aussie rapper Iggy Azaela has released her new music video 'Fancy' playing homage to chick flick classic 'Clueless' (1995), and she has done it quite right.

Wearing practically the same iconic wardrobe that Cher (Alicia Silverstone) wore in the movie, she re-enacts some scenes of the movie such as Cher giving her speech about the Haitians, Dionne's near car crash, the party scene (Rolling with the homies) and of course, Cher's and Dionne's walk through the highschool alley talking on their phones (iPhones this time).

The song, well, let's say it's not something that Cher would be singing (As if) but the music video is quite cool and they re-enacted the movie quite flawlessly. Enjoy:

Tavi Gevinson photographed in her bedroom by Petra Collins

I've recently came across Petra Collins' photography and it has become an instant favourite. I've already posted her portfolio 'The Teenage Gaze' and i really loved her photography, the way she looks at things, to capture that hidden essence of femininity that all girls try to hide during their teens, the vulnerability, the self-consciousness. So it's no surprise that i liked Collins' photographing Tavi Gevinson in her bedroom, both are really great inspirations to young women today and it's a treat to get inside Tavi's personal space, so i'm posting some of the photos i liked better after the cut, but check them all at the source.

86th Annual Academy Awards 2014

In case you didn't know, the Academy Awards were last night and while i was tempted to watch them since i've seen many of the nominated movies this year, i went to sleep and did my catching up in the morning. Usually, i'm making a post about the red carpet and its best looks only, but is it me or this year the red carpet fashion has been really boring? So i feel like discussing the whole thing, who won, who lost, who was best dressed and who should have been nominated, let's begin!

This had to be one of the most predictable Academy Awards. '12 Years a Slave' won the Best Movie Award, Cuarón won Best Director for 'Gravity', McConaughey Best Actor for 'Dallas Buyers Club', just like Jared Leto as Best Supporting Actor and 'Her' got the super deserved award for Best Original Screenplay. Those were all a given. I was happy for 'Her' and for both DBC actors, i watched the movie yesterday and both did great. Still, it is painful for Leonardo DiCaprio, sure his role on 'The Wolf of Wall Street' wasn't his best one but give an Oscar to this man already, we all know he deserves it.

Anyway, i was afraid that Cate Blanchett wouldn't win the Oscar for Best Actress in 'Blue Jasmine' because of the Woody Allen controversy. She really owned the movie and did an excellent, flawless performance, so nothing should have come in the way of that. So i'm really happy for that as well, just like for Lupita Nyong'o win for '12 Years a Slave' instead of Jennifer Lawrence. Don't get me wrong, JenLaw did a really great and hilarious performance in 'American Hustle' (the only good thing about the movie tbh), but there's no way she would win another Oscar. She deserved it for 'Winter's Bone' but not for 'Silver Linings Playbook', and sure Lupita was way better than her in the Steve McQueen movie.

And none for 'American Hustle', lol.

Still, i'm mad that 'La Vie d'Ad̬le' ('Blue is the Warmest Colour') wasn't nominated for Best Foreign Movie Рthough i'm happy that 'La Grande Bellezza' ('The Great Beauty') won instead of 'The Hunt', but still, i liked the French movie better than the others nominated. And 'Short Term 12' should had at least been nominated for Screenplay or even recognised some of the magnificent performances of the movie. Forever underrated. And also, we all know that Joaquin Phoenix should had been nominated for his emotional performance in 'Her', as well as Spike Jonze as a director or even Amy Adams (who was better in this movie than in 'American Hustle'). And let's be honest, Scarlett Johansson's voice in the film deserved a nomination, she was better with her voice than some other performances that were nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category.

And finally, the ladies! If there's someone who owned the red carpet this year, that was Lupita in a flawless Prada dress. She really stole the show and looked absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing:

My second favourite was Kate Hudson in this stunning Atelier Versace gown that looked amazing on her. This was nearly my favourite dress of the night and she looked flawless:

Karen O was also fantastic in this elegant Camilla Staerk looking really classy and pretty:

Emma Watson looked really classy in this Vera Wang dress, always looking on point but her look at the Golden Globes remains one of my favourites:

Cate Blanchett also looked like a winner wearing Armani Privé, she looked nice but didn't wow though the dress was really pretty:

And Naomi Watts (a personal favourite) looked fresh and beautiful in Calvin Klein, i would have posted a red carpet photo but it looks way better in this really great Vanity Fair portrait so i'm posting this one and a few others that i loved:
