Paris Couture Week: behind the scenes.

Vogue.com is featuring a set of photographs taken by Kevin Tachman during the Paris Couture Week and the backstage moments prior to the runway shows, capturing the world of fashion in full bloom. The photos are simply exquisite and gorgeous and it's also a beautiful and different way to take a look at the Spring 2013 Couture collections, so take a look behind the cut to the ones i loved best and dream of fashion.

Blue Valentine (2010)

Another movie trivia, this time about a film that i didn't quite like, i don't know if it was because everyone was loving it and adoring it and i expected lots from it or maybe i watched it on the wrong day, it can occur that when i watch this again i'm gonna love it, it has happened before so who knows. Still, the performances by Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams are amazing, and i really loved that the movie was a contrast between when they first met and fell in love with the decay of their relationship. But there's a precious trivia about one particular scene, when Dean, Ryan Gosling's character, has to bury his dog, and this is what happened during the filming process:

Director Derek Cianfrance was adamant not to let production designers dig the hole for Ryan in the scene where Dean is burying his dog. Ryan dug it himself and an hour and a half later, "when he was done digging the hole, he broke down. And that was an unscripted scene, him crying at the table. He was actually so emotional and what he told me afterwards was that, that process tricked his body because his body was so exhausted and his body didn't know that that wasn't his dog. His body just buried his dog, and his body reacted in that way."

As if we needed any more reasons to love Ryan Gosling... precious.

Marion & Tabitha

Mario Testino shot this photoshoot for Vogue Magazine in 2011 with Sarah Jessica Parker and her family, and it's simply gorgeous how this lady is always so fashionable, so it's not surprising that her twin girls, now 3-year-old Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, turned out to be so stylish as well. Of course, it's all their mamma's fault and Sarah Jessica herlsef has expressed how tragic it would be if they didn't have the same shoe size number as her when they grow up to inherit her shoes (all those Manolos!) so they're true heiresses of fashion. But in the meantime, it's lovely to see these little ladies dressed up all cute and chic so, as weird as that might be for some, i'm adding some pics of the twins out and about all dolled up in the streets of New York, little fashionistas in the making, these two princesses. But keep in mind that Tabitha Hodge (the brunette twin) remains the superior stylish twin for now.

22 years without Laura Palmer

Time has passed by but the mystery of both the figure and the death of Laura Palmer is still present. One cannot help but to recall those nights at home watching the show, being scared and intrigued by the whole aura of 'Twin Peaks', a show like no one other,  something that no one had ever watched before, and we allowed its darkness into our living rooms on a weekly basis. Just like if Bob was appearing from the back of the sofa.

Sure many people want to see something like that nowadays, and quickly rumours of a possible third season spread like fire on the internet. Apparently, David Lynch, the master himself, is believed to have had a meeting with NBC executives to bring the show back, setting the story in the present day and wanting the original cast back. But the series' co-creator Mark Frost debunked any rumours at this happening. Of course this is a good thing because even though if Lynch was behind this, and could turn out into a really good thing, the flawlessness of the 90s show could be tainted, and some things are better to leave that way.

Still, its influence can be seen loosely in present shows like 'Veronica Mars' and the 'Who killed Lilly Kane' mystery, or now with Alison Dilaurentis in 'Pretty Little Liars' (i remark the word 'loosely' again), but we'll always have the first two seasons to watch – and the prequel movie, 'Fire Walk With Me', forever underrated. Check out some stills of the best show ever in television history below (it might contain spoilers).

'The Carrie Diaries' pilot

So, on Monday 'The Carrie Diaries' premiered and as skeptikal as i was, i have to admit that i really liked it. It's nowhere close to 'Sex and the City' but it was a nice start, young (and virgin) Carrie Bradshaw making her way into the city, love and life basically, and the whole thing worked. There were some nice references to the good old show like her C. neckless (like the Carrie necklace our SJP used to wear) and the flawless ending with young Carrie sitting on her desktop table to write her journal (there were no Macs then in 1984), so it was a nice wink. Also, Century 21 as her introductory world into fashion and the love of the city that was always present on the show, makes me want to see more, i want to see Carrie drinking her first cosmopolitan, i want to see her starve and buy Vogue instead, failing to find her Big love, so keep calm and Carrie on.

The Olms

I didn't know about Pete Yorn's music until he did that flawless duet album with Scarlett Johansson titled 'Break Up', but i quickly redeemed myself by listening to his previous music and ended up loving his songs and heartbreak lyrics. So hence the excitement to know about 'The Olms', a new project band with J.D. King that has just released a new song 'Wanna Feel It' and you're definately going to feel the pop vibe, it's so catchy that i've alteady listened to it four times in a row.

I have to make a post one day about his best songs but on the meantime, click on the player below on the next link to listen to it and it will make your morning tune better, assured:

Amour (2012)

The Academy Award nominations were announced yesterday and while i don't have much hope in the Oscars since 'The Shawshank Redemption' (Cadena perpetua), that modern masterpiece, received no awards, it's always nice to rant and root for movies that won't get as much recognition as they deserve.

This year I'm rooting for 'Amour' (Love), exquisitely directed by Michael Haneke and and nominated to 5 awards: Best Picture, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Actress for Emmanuelle Riva, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. And how can i explain 'Amour'? I already posted it among the best movies of last year and the film is an exercise of true love, of the cruel decay of a person, of patience and caring, of what really means forever together. It is tough to watch, there are parts of terror and fear, but most importantly is a heartbreaking movie, full of love and tenderness among the cruelty of a person that fades while we're left to witness it.

There might be sploilers in the stills i posted behind the cut so be sure to watch it first.

Happy Birthday David Bowie

Today is David Bowie's birthday and instead of receiving presents, he makes the world the greatest gift, that is new music from him.

'The Next Day' is going to be his new album, his 30th, and a new single and video have been released, and (sighs) it's really beautiful. 'Where Are We Now?' is a beatiful ballad, the lyrics are heartbreaking and the video is a gorgeous ride through the streets of Berlin, and Bowie's voice... there's something nostalgic about it, i always feel like that, i don't know but i love it, my Twitter username is because of one of his songs, and because I was born on a Thursday, so you can figure. Thank you Mr. Bowie and have a nice birthday.

ELLE UK February issue: Scarlett Johansson by Rankin

Girl crush: Feelings of admiration and adoration which a girl has for another girl, without wanting to shag her. A nonsexual attraction, usually based on veneration at some level.

i don't upload too many magazine editorials even though there are many gorgeous ones (i posted the Fanning sisters one for W mag and the Marie Antoinette Vogue ed) but i had to post this one of Scarlett Johansson for the ELLE UK 2013 February issue, photographed by Rankin and dressing many designs by Victoria Beckham collection, Christian Louboutin for Beckham, Tom Ford, Jonathan Saunders and Calvin Klein.

The photos are gorgeous especially because she's usually styled as a bombshell or kinda like Marilyn Monroe, but here she's dressed age-appropiate (after all she's only 28) and with a more natural style – messy hair and natural make-up, which suits her best. No need to say that she's my girl crush forever and that anything she does, i'm interested in or like – just like i used to watch anything with Brad Pitt when i was a teen or now with Benicio del Toro or Meryl Streep, and she's among the holy four of young actresses for me (Kirsten, Natalie, Keira) so let me crush on her. More gorgeous photos after the cut!

Wildfox goes Clueless

Wildfox has just released their Spring 2013 collection: Kids in America! and this is totally an homage to 1995's classic 'Clueless'! You just can tell by the looks and the recreation of some of the scenes of the movie starring Alicia Silverstone, and it has Wildfox's always cool phrases like "I'd rather be shopping", "Need ride to the mall" or "Shopping is my cardio" from 'Sex and the City' and I simply love it. I would be happy to wear Wildfox and Miu Miu only, so enjoy the cool campaign because it's far from generic:
