2017 MET Costume Institute Gala 'Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between'

The MET Gala night is always one of my favorite nights of the year because i always wake up to see all the pretty dresses and the stars shining on the red carpet. Truth is, that the past few years, the looks haven't been as fabulous as once were, but this year's theme was edgy and risky so the expectations were high. And, while the designer on whom they inspired the theme is quite abstract, some have followed the theme and others have totally ignored. As always. Sadly there had been some major absences like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kirsten Dunst or Nicole Kidman, but after the cut i've posted all the interesting looks the Met Ball has given us this year. But i think there's no argument on Best Dressed as Rihanna was the absolute queen. Totally mesmerizing.

Rihanna was on absolute point dressing Comme des Garçons and was totally stunning. She risked and this year she totally slayed. A queen.

Tracee Ellis Ross was also dressing Comme des Garçons and was exquisite, elegant and followed the theme, and the colour of the gown looked gorgeous on her.

I adored Mary Kate's and Ashley Olsen's looks, i couldn't find what are they dressing but i bet is any of their lines, like The Row, but they looked like Renaissance nymphs.

Janelle Monáe was also really stunning in Ralph & Russo and delivered this amazing look.

Halle Berry was also fantastic in Atelier Versace and looked really great.

Zendaya's Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda dress was as beautiful as a painting but i didn't dig the hairstyle that much, though she looked good.

Nicki Minaj was also very on point in Custom H&M, i didn't like the belt but she looked quite great.

Liu Wen was also fabulous in Off-White, i didn't like the denim fabric much but the design is beautiful.

Katy Perry... well, the Maison Margiela dress is really something else, but maybe i would have done without the veil and the head piece.

Chrissy Teigen looked really beautiful in this Custom Marchesa.

Ruth Negga was also theme appropiate and awesome in Valentino.

Sasha Lane was also nice and cool in Custom H&M Concious.

And starting with other looks that ignored the theme but were nice here's Stella Maxwell in Custom H&M Conscious, a very great design

Lily Rose Depp was pretty in pink in this delicious Chanel gown

While Jennifer Lopez looked ethereal in this beautiful blue Valentino dress

Emma Roberts looked gorgeous in red in this Diane Von Fustenberg gown with a touch of pink fur that evoked her 'Scream Queens' character

Sofia Coppola looked elegant in Marc Jacobs, always.

And Elle Fanning was angelic in this delicate Miu Miu dress
