Pete Yorn's & Scarlett Johansson's EP 'Apart'

Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson are back together making music again and these two are always a great combination. After nearly 10 years of their first collaboration together with the 'Break Up' album, a pure gem, they are back with 'Apart', a 5 song EP that is simply excellent.

For starters, the first single 'Bad Dreams' is catching like fire, one of those songs you just love to listen while driving, because it has all the energy. But for me, my instant favorite has been 'Movies', such an hypnotic and melodic ballad that really takes you somewhere else. 'Cigarillo' has one hundred percent Pete Yorn's signature all over it, and that's a good thing, while 'Iguana Bird', is a really great start for opening the EP. And last but not least 'Tomorrow' is the perfect brooch for a tiny but perfect EP.

I simply couldn't be happier of these two making sweet and good music again and i hope there's a third full album, or at least EP, in a future. In the meantime, enjoy this small pleasure that turned out to be 'Apart'. Listen below.

Pete Yorn and Scarlett together are back together with 'Apart'

These are excellent music news and you have no idea how happy i am. Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson are collaborating again and releasing an EP called 'Apart' after their 2009 'Break Up' and these are wonderful news.

'Break Up' was an excellent EP full of catchy and lively songs about a couple's struggle of breaking things up and now, nine years later, they're back together with 'Apart' dealing with all the emotions that you go through when you're not living anymore with the person you used to be. Lots of sad and confused feelings in really hip songs as the first single 'Bad Dreams' is out and sounds amazing.

We'll have to wait for June 1st to listen to the rest of the tracks but in the meantime, watch the music vid for 'Bad Dreams' below and if you weren't familiar with him, get to know a little bit more about Pete Yorn with my 10 fave songs from him –including lots of the 'Break Up' EP, of course. Maybe you're not aware of it, but Pete and Scarlett back together is the best thing ever.

10 favourite songs from Pete Yorn

Pete Yorn has released new music last week, and while many of you might know him only for his duet album with Scarlett Johansson 'Break Up' in 2009, the guy has much more to offer than that.

I have to be honest and admit that i only knew about him after that collaboration but as i liked the album so much i started listening to his music and really loved many of his stuff. While he has tons of powerful ballads with heartfelt lyrics, he can also make guitar loaded tracks and he doesn't limit himself and collaborates in tons of side projects, like the 'Break Up' album and his other band The Olms. So, waiting for his new stuff as a solo artist to come, let's enjoy his new single 'Summer Was A Day' and 10 other songs that i like best from him, i'm not making a Top 10 because i haven't entirely heard his complete discography but this can give you a taste of his sound after the cut:

Pete Yorn and The Olms

Gotta be honest, i only ever knew about Pete Yorn when he did that flawless 'Break Up' album with Scarlett Johansson. After that, i started listening to his solo stuff and was not disappointed, even though i really think they should do another duet album together. Like, for real. So, having said that, anything coming from Pete Yorn, interests me.

I've already talked about his new project with J.D. King and now there are a few more tracks out from this collaboration and all of them sound just great. There's a good feeling vibe about them, 'Wanna Feel It' remains my favourite and a perfect Springtime tune, so enjoy The Olms, their album comes out June 4th but here's a nice taste of what's coming:

The Olms

I didn't know about Pete Yorn's music until he did that flawless duet album with Scarlett Johansson titled 'Break Up', but i quickly redeemed myself by listening to his previous music and ended up loving his songs and heartbreak lyrics. So hence the excitement to know about 'The Olms', a new project band with J.D. King that has just released a new song 'Wanna Feel It' and you're definately going to feel the pop vibe, it's so catchy that i've alteady listened to it four times in a row.

I have to make a post one day about his best songs but on the meantime, click on the player below on the next link to listen to it and it will make your morning tune better, assured:
