MET Costume Institute Gala 2015: China Through the Looking Glass

Surprisingly, this year Met Gala's theme was totally on point for many. That means two things, one, that it was good and nearly everyone tried their best and second that many failed while trying. But that's better than not trying at all and just attempt to look pretty so let's take a look at all the ladies on this year's Met Gala because i think this has been a really good year (finally!). I'm not going to comment on hot messes like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway or Madonna (i'm posting though, Dakota Johnson's cute clutch above) but check out all the pretty dresses after the cut!

Personally, i think Fan Bingbing has been the absolute queen at this year's gala in this Christopher Bu sequined dress and cape.

Emily Ratajkowski was second best dressed for me in this elegant TopShop(!?) dress.

Zendaya has me loving and hating her look at the same time but she at least made an effort in Fausto Puglisi.

Kendall Jenner looked great in this Calvin Klein dress, girl has a smokin body.

Shupei Qin was absolutely gorgeous in Tommy Hilfiger, red was the colour of the night, whereas Tang Wei looked exquisite in Burberry.

Alexa Chung looked lovely in Erdem and the shoes are to die for.

Beyonce wore a love it or hate it Givenchy dress that i have to admit i kinda adore but at the same time i'm torn because it kinda looks tacky. But she looked smoking hot anyway.

Solange though went over her head with this Giles that well, it's a mess but props for the originality but Rose Huntington-Whiteley was stunning in this beautiful Atelier Versace.

Karen Elson wore a really fantastic Dolce & Gabbana and the headpiece is also great but somehow i'm not feeling this look.

Rihanna turned heards with this Guo Pei gown and while i adore her headpiece, the rest is kinda too much but better this than look boring.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore an H&M dress that is quite great but the headpiece, hmm, i'm not feeling it. Kuddos for always going one step forward though.

Naomi Campbell looked quite great in Burberry, girl doesn't age, while Cassie and P.Diddy wore Zuhair Murad.

Kim Kardashian West was wearing Roberto Cavalli and while i don't think this was flattering on her, the back of the dress was beautiful (above, next to J.Lo)

Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen wore vintage Dior and John Galliano and out of the two, i liked  Ashley a lot better. Meanwhile Lorde wore Calvin Klein and didn't look bad.

Vanessa Hudgens was ok in this H&M dress, not bad but well, nothing stunning.

Claire Danes looked dramatic but great in Valentino & i really loved this J.Mendel dress on Olivia Munn.

Joan Smalls was also one of my faves of the night in this stunning Roberto Cavalli dress while the trio Brie Larson, Courtney Eaton & Annabelle Wallis wore gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana dresses and headpieces.

Kate Hudson was also stunning in Michael Kors & Rita Ora didn't look bad in Tom Ford.

Helen Mirren looked really elegant in this red Dolce & Gabbana while Selena Gomez looked like a beautiful swan in Vera Wang but maybe not theme appropriate.

Jennifer Lawrence looked nice in this Dior but so not on theme for the gala.

Emma Roberts looked nice but kinda boring in Ralph Lauren & Amanda Seyfried was quite great in Givenchy.

(Jackie Miranne looked super great in this exquisite gown and Lily Donaldson was red delicious in TopShop)

Lily Aldridge looked stunning in Carolina Herrera. And finally Amal Alamuddin looked gorgeous in this Maison Margiela.
